Rathdrum

Rathdrum sits on the northern edge of the Rathdrum Prairie at the base of Rathdrum Mountain, roughly 20 minutes from downtown Coeur d'Alene and about 45 minutes from Spokane and Spokane International Airport. It has grown quickly in the last decade but still keeps a small-town feel, with more room between homes than you'll find closer to the lake.

Most of Rathdrum is single-family homes on larger lots. The Lakeland Joint School District serves the area with several elementary schools, a middle school, Lakeland High School, and KTEC, a technical-education campus. Highway 53 and nearby I-90 connect Rathdrum to Post Falls, Coeur d'Alene, and the Washington line.

The draw here is the outdoors. Silverwood Theme Park is just north, Twin Lakes and Rathdrum Mountain are close by, and Farragut State Park and Lake Coeur d'Alene are a short drive. Beyond town, North Idaho and eastern Washington open up: camping, fishing, hunting, and hiking across the region, ski resorts including Mt. Spokane, Silver Mountain, Lookout Pass, and Schweitzer, the lakes of the panhandle from Coeur d'Alene up to Pend Oreille, and rail-trails like the North Idaho Centennial Trail and the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes.

It's a practical fit for buyers who want a little space and easy access to everything North Idaho's outdoors has to offer, without being in the middle of town.
