Hayden

A growing North Idaho city with lake access, easy shopping, and a foot in both the outdoors and everyday convenience.

Hayden sits just north of Coeur d'Alene at the southwest end of Hayden Lake, a suburban city of around 16,000 that has grown steadily as the area has. It offers a middle ground many buyers are after: quick access to shopping and services along Government Way and Highway 95, with the lake, golf, and open country close at hand.

Housing runs from established neighborhoods and newer subdivisions to homes on acreage, with higher-end and lakefront properties concentrated around Hayden Lake itself. The city is served by the Coeur d'Alene School District. Interstate 90 and downtown Coeur d'Alene are a few minutes south, and the Coeur d'Alene Airport sits just to the west.

Honeysuckle Beach, a city park on the lake, is a summer gathering spot for swimming, boating, and fishing. Hayden Lake Country Club and Avondale Golf Course are both here, and the English Point trails offer hiking and biking through the woods near the lake. It's a short drive to everything Coeur d'Alene offers while keeping a quieter, more spread-out feel.

Hayden fits buyers who want to be close to town and the lake without being in the middle of it, whether that's a family neighborhood, a home with some land, or a place near the water.
